多名曾參與去年立法會初選的人士今早（6 日）被警方上門拘捕。其中多人的 facebook 專頁均指，被捕是因參與民主派初選涉違《國安法》，罪名為「顛覆國家政權」。候任美國國務卿布林肯（Antony Blinken）在 Twitter 發文回應，表示搜捕支持民主人士，是侵犯勇敢倡議普世權利的人，又重申拜登政府會與港人同行，對抗北京對民主的鎮壓。

布林肯在其 twitter 附上美國《有線新聞網絡》（CNN）的相關報道，發文指「搜捕」（sweeping arrests）支持民主人士，是侵犯那些勇於倡議普世權利的人。在貼文的留言中，則有網民反問「然後你會做甚麼？」（And do what？）亦有網民指，希望美國政府會對中國實施更多制裁。
